Manual update

The menu item Manual update in the Update menu opens a dialog box to select and load a VDF/search engine update package. The update package can be downloaded from the manufacturer's website (http://www.avira.com) and contains the current virus definition file and search engine.

Note
With Windows Vista, a manual update is only possible with administrator rights.
