The following section outlines the steps to quickly configure a working ERP MA. To configure a new ERP MA you'll need to use two tools:

To use the ERP Configuration Tool
  1. Start the ERP Configuration Tool

  2. Connect to target SAP server. If this is the first time you are running the ERP Configuration Tool it will start the process of discovery and caching the server RFC information. This generally is a lengthy process. To avoid this, it's recommended that you build the cache on a different server and then copy it to the ERP Configuration Tool working folder for use.

  3. (optional) Restore one of the Templates. You can create your new MA from scratch or use one of the packaged templates. These templates are configuration files which have been configured for basic SAP provisioning operations. It's recommended that you start with one of the templates and then adjust it to suite your specific needs.

  4. Define the SAP functions that will be called to provide the data needed for each FIM operation. In this process, you'll need to configure connector-space-object & operation to be managed. Then search and select SAP RFC/BAPI to be called during these operations.

  5. Define the FIM connector-space attributes and link them to the (previously defined) functions/parameters that will supply the data.

  6. Set the defining attribute for object (i.e. anchor).

  7. Save As <MAname>.The <MAName> should be the name of MA in FIM.

To use the FIM Synchronization Service Manager
  1. Start the FIM Synchronization Service Manager

  2. Create a new ERP MA.

    Note
You cannot import the DSML file created by the ERP Configuration Tool. Instead, you'll use it as a template for creating a new MA.
  3. When prompted for a template, point to the "<MAName>-schemaAttributes.xml" file which was created by the ERP Configuration Tool when you saved the configuration. By default, this is saved to the <FIMInstallDirectory>\Extensions folder.

  4. Complete the rest of the configuration as per the FIM documentation.
