The ESM console lets you use suppressions to focus on priority security problems. Some Symantec ESM messages may report the known policy exceptions that your organization's security policy allows. You can temporarily or permanently suppress these messages. You do not have to adjust the policy or exclude important areas of the computer from a check.
Suppressions do not correct security problems; they only prevent the messages that the agents report from appearing in future Security reports.
You can suppress specific messages or use wildcards to suppress all messages of a certain type.
