The Client Server Protocol (CSP) is an integral part of Symantec ESM communications. The CSP packages and sends data from component to component, using the various transport protocols that Symantec ESM supports.

To protect confidentiality, Symantec ESM encrypts the data it transfers over the network between ESM console, managers, and agents.
