A template is a file that contains module control directives and definitions of objects with their expected states.

Symantec Enterprise Security Manager lets you create, edit, and delete templates.

With each new security update, Symantec Enterprise Security Manager overwrites all of the templates that ship with the program. Consequently, you lose any changes that you have made to these templates. To avoid this problem, create and edit your own templates, or copy and edit the default templates.
