Install a permanent license

The temporary license that Symantec includes at shipping lets you install and run Symantec ESM for 30 days. To obtain a permanent license, increase the number of agents that can register with the manager, or move the ESM manager software to another system, or contact the license administrator at Symantec.

The license administrator issues permanent licenses for ESM managers. ESM agents do not require licenses. Manager licenses permit ESM managers to check the security of the number of agents specified at the time of licensing. Later, if you want to register additional ESM agents to the manager, you must obtain a new permanent license that includes the increased number of ESM agents.

Contact your Symantec account manager for details. Before installing the permanent license, you must connect the ESM console to the manager using a manager account with the Modify ESM Options right enabled.
