Specify recurrence patterns when scheduling a policy run

The Scheduler lets you schedule policy runs to start at a future date. By setting a recurrence pattern you can instruct Symantec ESM to run the policy once (None) or at Hourly, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, or Yearly intervals. The Scheduler provides you with great flexibility when setting a recurrence pattern. For example, you can schedule a policy run to start on the first Monday of every month or on a certain date once a year.

The following is a description of the various recurrence patterns:

None

Schedules the policy run to start on a future date and run only once.

Hourly

Schedules the policy run to start at a future date and repeat at hourly intervals. You can set the interval from 1-24 hours.

Daily

Schedules the policy run to start at a future date and repeat at the same time on a daily basis

You can click Every Weekday to repeat the run every day or you can set the policy run to repeat after a certain number of days. For example, you can schedule the policy run to repeat every tenth day.

Weekly

Schedules the policy run to start at a future date and repeat at the same time at a weekly interval

You can select the days of the week that you want the policy run to repeat. For example, you can schedule the policy run to repeat every week on Monday and Friday, or every two weeks on Thursday.

Monthly

Schedules the policy run to start at a future date and repeat at the same date or day of the week at a monthly interval

For example, you can schedule the policy run to repeat on the 25th day of every month, or on the last Friday of each month.

Yearly

Schedules the policy run to start at a future date and repeat at the same date or day of the week at a Yearly interval

For example, you can schedule the policy run to repeat every August 15th, or on the 2nd Tuesday of July.
