Use the Add Item to Template dialog box to add an item to a template. The type of items that you can add to a template depends on the type of template that you are editing. For example, if you are editing a template for the File Attributes module, this dialog box lets you add a file to the template. But, if you are editing the template for the Registry module, this dialog box lets you add a registry key to the template. An item can also be a hierarchy item such as a directory or keys and subkeys in a registry. After you add an item to the template, new policy runs of the module using the template check the item against its template entry and report any discrepancies.
