The ESM agent gathers summary information on the state of the system during a policy run. The agent then passes the summary information to the manager where it is stored in the manager sumfinal database.

If Manual Summary Updates are not selected when the console connects to a manager, the ESM console loads the summary information from the manager sumfinal database and displays it in the chart and grid.

The ESM console refreshes the information each time you log on to a manager. The ESM console also refreshes the summary data at the completion of a policy run. At this point, you can decide whether you want the ESM console to auto-navigate the enterprise tree so that you can view the report data.

You can also manually refresh the summary information by clicking Refresh in the View menu.
