Check critical processes (UNIX)

Module: Startup Files

This check is applicable only on non-global zones created on Sun Solaris 10+ with esm agent installed on non-global zones and if either one of "Duplicate processes" or "Installed services" or "Services not in template" or all the three mentioned checks are enabled. Processes with PPID's 0 or 1 are considered as critical processes i.e. processes whose parent process is either zsched (which is the equivalent of sched of global zone) or init. Both these processes on local zone have values greater than 0 and 1. By enabling this check, the pid value of zsched is set to 0 and of init is set to 1 and thus helps in identifying critical processes running on non-global zones.
