The Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server (FPE) scheduled scan is typically used to go deep into your information store, forgoing system performance, in order to scan a wide range of files, including items already in the store. The scheduled scan also enables you to scan mailboxes and public folders that are not covered by the realtime scan. It is recommended that you run a full scheduled scan after installing FPE for the first time.
