In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click
Cache.
In the details pane, click the Cache Rules tab, and then
select the applicable cache rule.
On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Rule.
On the Cache Store and Retrieval tab, select one of the
following options:
If the objects should only be retrieved from the cache if it
has not expired, click Only if a valid version of the object
exists in cache. If no valid version exists, route the
request.
If the object should be retrieved from the cache when available
and otherwise using the specified route, click If any version of
the object exists in cache. If none exists, route the
request.
If the object should only be retrieved if it is in the cache,
click Any version of the requested object. If none exists, drop
the request.
In Store in cache, select one of the following options:
If retrieved objects should not be cached, click Never, no
content will ever be cached.
If content should be cached only if the source and request
headers indicate that the object should be cached, click If
source and request headers indicate to cache. Then, select one
or more of the following:
Dynamic content (if ISA Server will cache retrieved
objects even if they are marked as not cacheable)
Content for offline browsing (302, 307 responses)
Content requiring user authentication for retrieval

To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to
All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then
click ISA Server Management.
For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, expand
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration
Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand
Array_Name, expand Configuration, and then
click Cache.
For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft
Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand
Server_Name, expand Configuration, and then
click Cache.
Important
When you select the If any version of the object exists in
cache. If none exists, route the request option, requests
generated by scheduled content download jobs can still be
retrieved.
