This section provides an overview of the monitoring features of
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA)
Server 2006.
ISA Server monitoring features include:
Dashboard. The Dashboard view summarizes monitoring
information about sessions, alerts, services, reports,
connectivity, and general system health.
Alerts. The Firewall service notifies you when specified
events occur. You can configure alert definitions to trigger a
series of actions when an event occurs.
Session monitoring. Using the real-time monitoring
feature, you can centrally monitor ISA Server computer
activity.
Services. You can monitor the status of the ISA Server
services from ISA Server Management.
Logs. ISA Server provides several logging options, that
enable you to track traffic that is handled by ISA Server.
Reports. You can use the reporting feature to summarize
and analyze communication patterns.
Connectivity. Using the connectivity feature, you can
verify connectivity by regularly monitoring connections from the
ISA Server computer to any specific computer or URL on any
network.
Performance monitor. Performance data can be viewed in a
report or in various graph and log formats.
Configuration status. (Enterprise Edition) The
configuration status view helps you validate that all the arrays
have been updated with the configuration information from the
Configuration Storage server to which ISA Server Management is
connected.
