Dial-up connection configuration steps

The dial-up connection specifies the dial-up properties, such as Internet service provider (ISP), ISP phone number, and modem.

Dial-up connections are created in the Microsoft Windows Server New Connection Wizard.

After selecting a dial-up connection, you must specify the dial-up account details required by the ISP. These are the same account details used when creating the dial-up connection. The dial-up account details are used by Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 when connecting to the ISP.

To enable dial-on-demand, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a network connection on the operating system. For instructions on creating network dial-up connections, see Windows Help.
  2. Select the networks to which ISA Server will automatically dial out.
  3. Verify that a default gateway is not configured on any of the internal network adapters on the ISA Server computer.
