When you enable Cache Array Routing
Protocol (CARP), the cache
drives on all the servers in the array are
treated as a single logical cache drive. In this way, cached
objects can be efficiently distributed among the member
servers.
To enable CARP, you must do the following:
Enable CARP for the array-level network. CARP will be applied
to objects cached for requests on this network. For instructions,
see Enable CARP.
(Optional). Configure the load factor for the array members. By
default, the load factor on each server is set to 100. You can
configure a higher load factor, if you want more objects to be
cached to a specific server. Alternatively, configure a lower load
factor if fewer objects should be cached to the server.
For instructions, see Configure load
factor.
CARP functionality requires that the network with the
intra-array address for this array listens for Web Proxy
client requests. For instructions on how to configure this
network to listen for Web Proxy client requests, see Listen for
Web Proxy client requests.
