Dial-in accounts for remote site connections

When creating a site-to-site network for remote access, you must also create a user account for initiating the remote access dial-up connection. For the connection to succeed:

• The name of the user account and the name of the site-to-site network must be identical. For example, if on SiteA you create a site-to-site network representing SiteB, you must also create a user named SiteB. SiteB will connect to SiteA using the credentials of the user named SiteB.
• The remote access user dial-in properties must be set to allow remote access.

This information applies to site-to-site connections using Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) or Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP). It does not apply to connections using Internet Protocol security (IPsec).
