Listener connection settings

When you create a Web listener, you select whether to require a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection with clients. If you do, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2006 will publish servers only over HTTPS. If you do not, ISA Server will publish servers over HTTP.

You can modify the connection settings after you create the Web listener, through the Web listener properties. You can change whether the listener listens for HTTP or HTTPS requests, or both. In the advanced properties, you can specify the number of allowed concurrent client connections.

By limiting the number of connections allowed simultaneously to the ISA Server computer, you can prevent attacks that overwhelm the system's resources.
