To specify credentials for communication with
the Configuration Storage server (Enterprise Edition)
ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition only
In the console tree of ISA Server Management, click the
applicable array:
Expand Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration
Server 2006, expand Arrays, and then click
Array_Name.
On the Tasks tab, click Configure Array
Properties.
On the Configuration Storage tab, click
Select.
In Select Authentication Type, select one of the
following:
Windows authentication. Select this option if the
Configuration Storage server and the computer running ISA Server
services are in a single domain or in domains with trust
relationships.
Authentication over SSL encrypted channel. Select this
option if the array members and the Configuration Storage servers
will be in a workgroup or in untrusted domains.
Note
To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to
All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then
click ISA Server Management.
Important
If you select Authentication over SSL encrypted channel,
a certificate must be installed on the Configuration Storage
server. You can use the ISACertTool, available on the ISA Server
Download Center(http://www.microsoft.com/), to deploy
certificates. By default, ISACertTool deletes all certificates in
the ADAM_ISASTGCTRL local store. By including the /keepcerts switch
when you run the tool, you can retain all existing
certificates.
Certificates typically have an expiration period, usually no
more than one year. ISA Server cannot use an expired certificate.
Be sure to renew your certificates before they expire, so that ISA
Server can continue to function.
