Notes
For more information about link translation, see Link
Translation Concepts in ISA Server 2006 at the Microsoft
ISA Server TechCenter Web site(http://www.microsoft.com).
To open ISA Server Management, click Start, point to
All Programs, point to Microsoft ISA Server, and then
click ISA Server Management.
For ISA Server 2006 Enterprise Edition, expand
Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration
Server 2006, expand Arrays, expand
Array_Name, and then click General.
For ISA Server 2006 Standard Edition, expand Microsoft
Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2006, expand
Server_Name, and then click General.
Important
Use the link redirection feature when you want users who
request an unpublished site to be redirected to a specific URL,
rather than receiving an error.
By default, link translation is applied only to HTML content:
text/html, text/css, and text/webviewhtml.
To view the MIME types and file types included in a content
group, view the content group properties.
We recommend that you use the sample error page provided with
ISA Server, or alternatively one modeled on the sample error page,
to avoid creating a vulnerability to cross-site scripting attacks.
For more information about cross-site scripting, see Information
on Cross-Site Scripting Security Vulnerability at the Microsoft
TechNet Web site(http://www.microsoft.com).
We recommend that when ISA Server is configured to direct
traffic to a published server over HTTPS, that the corresponding
Web listener be configured to listen only on HTTPS. If you allow
users to connect to ISA Server over HTTP, and then direct that
traffic over HTTPS to a published server, ISA Server will translate
HTTPS links to HTTP, which has security implications. This is an
issue for a Web listener that listens only on HTTP, or on HTTP and
HTTPS.
