Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000 |
Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server offers a complete Internet connectivity solution that contains both an enterprise firewall and a complete Web cache solution. These services are complementary — you can use either or both of these functions when you install ISA Server in your network.
ISA Server secures your network, allowing you to implement your business security policy by configuring a broad set of rules that specify which sites, protocols, and content can be passed through the ISA Server computer. ISA Server monitors requests and responses between the Internet and internal client computers, controlling who can access which computers on the corporate network. ISA Server also controls which computers on the Internet can be accessed by internal clients.
This section provides basic information regarding the architecture of ISA Server. This information is useful to developers who require a broad view of ISA Server before developing extensions and filters using the ISA Server Software Development Kit (SDK).
This section includes the following topics:
The section also includes the diagrams for network and server views.
