ISA Server

The first step to setting up a test environment is to set up ISA Server correctly.

1. Install Windows 2000 Server.
2. Install ISA Server.
3. In the Access Policy|Protocol Rules node of the ISA Console Tree, right-click to select New|Rule,. The Protocol Rule Creation Wizard starts. In the wizard, make the following selections:
   • Rule action — select Allow.
   • Protocols — select Selected protocols. Then select the appropriate protocol from the list. In the case of the SMTP filter, select SMTP Server.
   • Schedule — Always (default).
   • Client Type — Any request (default).
4. Stop SMTP service on the ISA computer at the command prompt by typing:

   net stop "Microsoft SMTP Service"
