The EventsBeforeRaise property gets or sets the default number of times that the event must be signaled before an alert that is issued for the event can be issued.

Parameters

plThreshold

Pointer to a variable that on return receives a 32-bit integer specifying the default threshold.

lThreshold

A 32-bit integer that specifies the default threshold.

Return Values

These property methods return S_OK if the call is successful; otherwise, they return an error code.

Remarks

This property is read/write.

This property only establishes a default value for an event. When you create an alert, the alert can use the default value, or you can overwrite it with values specific to the alert by modifying the corresponding property in the FPCAlert object.

The MinutesBeforeReRaise, EventsBeforeRaise, and MinEventsPerSecond properties of the FPCAlert object set the three thresholds that the Microsoft Firewall service uses to issue alerts. For each alert, the Microsoft Firewall service stores the time when the event last occurred, a count of how many times the event has occurred per second, and a count of the total number of times that the event has occurred. An alert is issued and the alert invokes the actions defined for it only when the three threshold requirements for issuing the alert are met simultaneously.
