Connect to an Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) server

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to an Active Directory Application Mode page, you connect to a server running Active Directory. You must provide a server name, a user name and password with administrator rights, and a logon domain. Each time the management agent is run, it uses this information to log on to Active Directory to read or write to the Active Directory Application Mode you specify. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the MIISAdmins security group.

This procedure applies to management agents for the following Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 editions:

To connect to an Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) server

  1. In Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Active Directory Application Mode page, in Server, type the complete name of the server you want to connect to, and then type a port number, user name, and password.
  2. To enable all communication with the server using Secure Sockets Layer, click Enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) for communications.
  3. To digitally sign and encrypt all communication with the server, click Sign and encrypt LDAP traffic.
