Connect to a Windows NT 4.0 domain

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Domain page, you connect to a Windows NT 4.0 domain. You must provide a domain name, a user name and password with administrator rights, and a logon domain. Each time the management agent is run, it uses this information to log on to the domain to read or write to the directory that you specify. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the MIISAdmins security group.

This procedure applies to management agents for the following Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 editions:

To connect to Windows NT 4.0 domain

In Management Agent Designer, on the Connect to Domain page, in Domain to discover, type the complete name of the root domain, and then type a user account, password and logon domain.

Note

If you select Use existing connection, the management agent runs under your personal user account. It is strongly recommended that you create a special user account with minimal rights to perform the necessary tasks when running the management agent and specify that account with NT authentication mode.
