Configure partitions

For this procedure, in Management Agent Designer, on the Configure Partitions page, you can add, remove, and rename partitions for your management agent. If more than one partition is available, you can configure which partition you want to use for a particular object. Partitions are logical memory spaces where you process an object and attributes in the connector space. You are not required to configure additional partitions, but it is recommended if you are working with a large number of logical object groupings. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the MIISAdmins security group.

This procedure applies to management agents for the following Microsoft Identity Integration Server 2003 editions:

Enterprise Edition Identity Integration Feature Pack for Active Directory
Attribute-value pair text files, delimited text files, Directory Services Markup Language (DSML) 2.0, fixed-width text files, LDAP Data Interchange Format (LDIF) N\A

To configure partitions

  1. In Management Agent Designer, on the Configure Partitions page, in Partition, click the partition to be assigned to the object type.
  2. To create a new partition, click Add, and then in Partition name, type a name for the partition.
