Search for a connector space object

For this procedure, you can use Search Connector Space to search for connector objects and disconnector objects in a connector space. You can then view properties of a search result, or use Preview to test the effects of synchronization of an object with the metaverse and other connector spaces. To complete this procedure, you must be logged on as a member of the MIISAdmins security group.

To search for a connector space object

  1. On the Tools menu, click Management Agents.
  2. In Management Agents, click a management agent with an associated connector space.
  3. On the Actions menu, click Search Connector Space.
  4. In Scope, perform one of tasks listed in the following table.
  5. Task Steps
To search the connector space for an object with a specific relative distinguished name Click RDN, and then, in Specify relative distinguished name (RDN) or anchor value, type all or the first part of the name of the object to search for.
To search the connector space for an object with a specific distinguished name or anchor Click DN or Anchor, and then, in Specify distinguished name (DN) or anchor value, type all or the first part of the name of the object to search for. For directory-based management agents, you can search by distinguished name. For management agent types that do not have a distinguished name (for example, a database or nonhierarchical file-based management agent), you can search by anchor attribute because, in the metadirectory, the anchor attribute is treated as a distinguished name. This search will also be applied to RDN.
To search the connector space for an object within a specific subtree Click Sub-Tree, and then, in Specify distinguished name (DN) for sub-tree, type all or the first part of the distinguished name of the subtree to search for. This option returns all objects within the subtree.
To search the connector space for all objects with import errors Click Import Errors.
To search the connector space for all objects with export errors Click Export Errors.
To search the connector space for all objects that are pending full or delta import to the metaverse during the next management agent run Click Pending Import. To view only those objects that will be added to the metaverse, click Add. To view only those objects that will be modified in the metaverse, click Modify. To view only those objects that will be deleted in the metaverse, click Delete.
To search the connector space for all objects that are pending export from the metaverse during the next management agent run Click Pending Export. To view only those objects that will be added to the connected data source, click Add. To view only those objects that will be modified in the connected data source, click Modify. To view only those objects that will be deleted in the connected data source, click Delete.
To search the connector space for all objects from a full or delta import Click Imported Since, and then, in Since, click the date and time of the previous management agent run that you want to search forward from.
To search the connector space for all objects from an export Click Exported Since, and then, in Since, click the date and time of the previous management agent run that you want to search forward from.
To search the connector space for all objects that have been joined to metaverse objects Click Connected Since, and then, in Since, click the date and time of the previous management agent run from which you want to search.
To search the connector space for all objects that have been disconnected from metaverse objects Click Disconnected Since, and then, in Since, click the date and time of the previous management agent run that you want to search forward from.
  6. Click Search.
