Proxy server settings

A proxy server is a computer that processes data traffic between the local network and the Internet. If your computer connects to the Internet via a proxy, you should configure the program to ensure it can access the Internet via the proxy in order to be updated.

If you connect to the Internet via a proxy server, you will need to indicate the IP address of that server, and the port that it uses.

Also, if the proxy server requires authentication (if it asks you for a user name and password), you must also indicate these details.

If these details are not entered correctly, Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 cannot access the Internet to update itself auto.

Follow these steps to configure Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 to access the Internet (if you connect via a proxy server):

  1. In the main Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 window click Preferences.

  2. Select the Internet tab.

  3. Indicate the proxy server IP and port.

  4. If the proxy server requires authentication (if it asks you for a user name and password), you must also indicate these details in the corresponding section.

  5. Click OK.
