Preferences: General tab

This tab lets you configure several general features. The options available are the following:

Self-diagnosis

If the Enable self-diagnosis checkbox is selected, Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 will check that the level of protection is in accordance with the settings established.

The periodic self-diagnosis warnings will only be displayed when there is imminent risk of infection and the protection level of your PC requires attention.

CPU load control

If you select Enable CPU load management, full scans will be interrupted when the CPU load exceeds 90%, in order not to interrupt other tasks.

Sending information

If you agreed to this during the installation process, Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 will send information about the malware detected on you computer.

The information will be sent completely anonymously in order to update the information about the impact of different viruses in the different parts of the world.

If you don't want Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 to send this data, clear the Allow information to be sent checkbox.

Sending of suspicious items in quarantine

To get the most out of the quarantine feature it is advisable to let Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 automatically send files stored to our experts for analysis. In this way we can provide an update as rapidly as possible.

For these items to be sent we require your consent. You may have done this if you enabled the option to allow the information to be sent when you installed the program. If you did not do it during installation, you can do it now by following these steps:

  1. Click on Preferences in the main window of the program.

  2. In the General tab, enable the option Automatically send items as they enter quarantine.
