To get the most out of the quarantine feature it is
advisable to let Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 automatically send files stored to our experts for
analysis. In this way we can provide an update as rapidly as
possible.
For these items to be sent we require your consent.
You may have done this if you enabled the option to allow the
information to be sent when you installed the program. If you did
not do it during installation, you can do it now by following these
steps:
Click on Preferences in
the main window of the program.
In the General tab,
enable the option Automatically send items as
they enter quarantine.
Sending suspicious files
manually
Even if you have enabled automatic sending of
suspicious items, you can still send suspicious files to our
experts whenever you want. To do this, follow these steps:
Click Quarantine in the
main window.
Select the file (or files) in quarantine that you
want to send and click Send to
.
Note:
You can select more than one file at the time by pressing the Ctrl
key on your keyboard while clicking the files).
You will see a wizard that will take you through
the process. Follow the instructions displayed on screen.
You can also send files to our experts from the
application icon on the Windows
Taskbar (next to the system clock):
Right-click on the Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 icon in the system tray, next to the clock.
Click View files in
Quarantine (this option only appears if there are files in
quarantine).
Select the file or files you want to send and click
Send.
Follow the instructions displayed on screen.
Every time there is
an update, quarantine checks to see if files stored can be securely
returned to their original location. When this is possible, a
message appears to notify you.
You can also move files in quarantine to the original location
whenever you want. To do this:
Select the file or files in quarantine.
Click Restore.
You can also restore files in quarantine using the
right-click menu. To do this, right-click on the files and select
Restore.
Once you have restored the files to their original
location you can use them normally.
You can also delete files from quarantine whenever you want.
Select the files you want to delete and click Delete. You can also right-click it and then select
the Delete option.
Quarantine storage space can also be used up. When this happens, it
is important to remove unnecessary items from quarantine. When the
quarantine is full, Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 will display a message informing you.
You can get more information about files in quarantine if they
represent a threat. To do this, right click on one of the files in
quarantine and select Show
information.
Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 makes frequent checks on the status of files in
quarantine. When it does this, it will disinfect them if possible,
returning them to the folder in which they were originally located.
If you want Panda Antivirus Pro 2010 to make these checks and a specific time, use the
Update option in quarantine.
This option is available when you right-click on files in
quarantine.
What can I do with the files in Quarantine?
The quarantine stores files that could not be
disinfected, as well as suspicious items that could be a threat to
your PC. The quarantine offers you options to take on the files
stored there. Specifically:
