How to enable and disable operating system services

 

There are certain Windows services that require communication ports to be opened in order to function correctly. One of these services is the Windows Remote Desktop, which allows computers to be managed remotely, or the PC clock synchronization service (NTP). The firewall protection lets you specify if you want to enable these types of services, on a public network (Internet), local network, or both.

To change the default configuration, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Status in the main menu.

  2. In the Protection section, click Settings.

  3. Select the Firewall option.

  4. In the Rules section, click Settings to enable or disable Windows services.

  5. In the window that appears you will see a list of Windows services. You can enable or disable communication of the services. To do this, select the corresponding option from the drop-down menu next to each one of the services.

  6. Once you have selected the options, click OK for the changes take place.
