SOIS is unable to do cleanup when
it is aborted from command line by pressing ctrl+c. The
temporary files are not deleted from user's temporary folder after
the scan abortion is complete. Workaround: User can manually delete
folder with name "7ZipSfx.*" in user's temporary
directory.
SOIS doesn't give clean prompt
when scan is aborted from command line by pressing ctrl+c. The
command prompt does not appear on screen after scan abort
completion message is displayed, you have to press "ENTER" key to
get a command prompt.
SOIS gives error message as '7-ZIP : Data
error' when it fails extraction.
This might happen when there is insufficient disk space available
in the user's temporary folder. In such scenario, disk cleanup is
required to free up space. For details of disk space requirements
please refer to Installation
Prerequisite section.
On Windows Vista, Windows 7 as
well as Win 2K8 ( as well as all the newer OS) platforms, when UAC
is turned on, the silent mode of SOIS requires you to accept
the UAC screen that the machine shows.
Silent mode command is given below:
C:\>SOIS.exe --silent --noGUI --dir c:\VMXP --avedefs
c:\avdefs
Scanning
Tool
If VMware image is created on a foreign language
host then the VMware disk files of this image can be scanned only
on the foreign language host. When the same
image is moved/copied to English host, scanning for the same fails
on English host unless the VM is powered on. When that VMware image
in question is powered on the English host, the SOIS can
successfully scan it on English host as
well. Additionally, when the
image is converted using VMware converter utility via ESX server
the scanning is successful.Root
cause of this issue is related to the encoding of VMware
images.
