To ensure that the Microsoft Forefront Protection 2010 for SharePoint (FPSP) services are fully restarted, it is recommended that you stop and then restart all relevant Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft Forefront Protection Suite services.
To restart services-
Open Services Control Manager.
On Windows Server 2003, click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
-
Stop all relevant Microsoft SharePoint services. Typically, this includes Windows SharePoint Services Timer, World Wide Web Publishing Service, and all the applications using Microsoft SharePoint Object Model.
-
Stop Microsoft Forefront Server Protection Controller and Microsoft Forefront Server Protection Controller for SharePoint.
-
Wait for all services to complete shutting down.
-
Optionally, use Task Manager to end any FPSP processes that are still running.
-
In Services Control Manager, start the services that were stopped in step 2.
-
All Microsoft Forefront Server Protection services will be started when documents are uploaded or downloaded.
Note: |
---|
If the Microsoft Forefront Server Protection Controller service is stopped, the SharePoint server does not run correctly and blocks all files from being uploaded or downloaded. |
