SymHelp runs in memory and, therefore, does not install to the
system.
SymHelp utilizes .NET and runs in one of three modes depending
on the version of .NET present:
Standard mode: requires .NET 3.0 or greater. Original UI based
on .NET 3.0.
Reduced mode: requires .NET 2.0. Different UI which translates
the standard mode UI into what .NET 2.0 can provide. There is no
self-help reporting in this mode.
no CLR mode: if .NET 1.x or no .NET is present. SymHelp will
produce a prompt to request a download of a different version of
SymHelp (SymHelp_noCLR.exe) that contains the Mono library which
provides .NET 2.0 capabilities. There is no self-help reporting in
this mode.
SymHelp can be run over an RDP connection or by using other
commercial remote administration utilities.
