Load Point Analysis

Load Point Analysis utilizes Symantec Power Eraser technology to do the following:

• Examine load points to find files that can be executed automatically without the user's permission
• Examine files found to see if they are signed with a valid certificate
• Use Symantec Insight to determine the reputation of examined files
• Apply additional tests and show the results of those tests
• Provide user selection of files and/or directories to scan

Load Point Analysis does not require internet access on the system it is run on. However, Load Point Analysis does require internet access before it will produce a report. A Load Point Analysis run on a machine without internet access can be saved. The resulting .sdbz file can be openned with SymHelp on another machine with internet access. SymHelp will detect that the Load Point Analysis contained in the .sdbz is incomplete and will prompt the user with the option to complete the report. If accepted by the user SymHelp will complete the report by connecting to Symantec Insight to gain the needed information.
