Symantec Power Eraser utilizes Power Eraser technology to do the
following:
Examine load points to find files that can be executed
automatically without the user's permission
Examine files found to see if they are signed with a valid
certificate
Use Symantec Insight to determine the reputation of examined
files
Apply heuristic checks
Provide file removal and restore
Apply optional advanced rootkit detection (requires system
reboot)
Symantec Power Eraser requires internet access in order to
utilize Symantec Insight to complete its analysis of files. If the
system is not online the Load Point Analysis tool can be used.
