The initial window that opens when you launch SymHelp is from
SymHelp.exe, the self-extracting archive that contains the SymHelp
application in a compressed format. This window is divided into a
left and right pane.
The left pane provides the following options and
information:
Language This option allows the user to change the
language that SymHelp text appears in. SymHelp is ready for
multi-language support, but is not currently fitted with
multi-language strings to fulfill that capability.
Diagnostic and Product Reports version This presents the
version of SymHelp (x.x.x.x) as well as an internal reports version
(mmddyyyy)
Version status This presents the status of the SymHelp
version check. SymHelp checks the file server it is hosted on for
the latest available version of SymHelp. If a newer version is
detected, SymHelp, by default, downloads the latest build and
relaunches that build in the place of the one originally
launched.
'I accept the EULA' This button allows the user to
launch SymHelp.
'Exit' This button causes the self-extractor to close.
SymHelp is not launched.
The right hand pane provides the following options and
information:
SYMANTEC TECHNOLOGY LICENSE AGREEMENT (EULA) This is the
end user license agreement text for SymHelp
'View EULA in a full screen' This button allows the user
to read the EULA in a larger window.
