This topic describes how to configure Forefront TMG to terminate inactive connections on Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) and Layer Two Tunneling Protocol (L2TP) VPN networks.

To terminate inactive VPN connections automatically

In the Forefront TMG Management console, in the tree, click the Virtual Private Networks (VPN) node.

In the details pane, click the Remote Sites tab, and then select the applicable remote network (PPTP and L2TP networks only).

On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Network.

On the Connection tab, in the Terminate inactive connections after list box, select how long a session can remain inactive before it is terminated.
