After you create a Web publishing rule in Forefront TMG, you may want to enable link translation for the rule and define mappings for replacing absolute links on Web pages that are published by the rule.
To replace absolute links in Web pages
-
In the Forefront TMG Management console, in the tree, click the Firewall Policy node.
-
In the details pane, click the applicable rule.
-
On the Tasks tab, click Edit Selected Rule.
-
On the Link Translation tab, verify that Apply link translation to this rule is selected.
-
If you want links from Web pages that contain other character sets to be translated, select Also apply link translation to Web content using this character set, and select a character set from the drop-down list.
-
To configure local mappings (add links to the local link translation dictionary), click Configure. For each new mapping, do the following:
- Click Add.
- In Replace this text, type a string that will be
translated. Typically, this string contains the name of an internal
site or server that is inaccessible to external clients.
- In With this text, type the text that will replace the
string. Typically, this text contains the name of a host that is
accessible to external clients, such as the fully qualified domain
names (FQDN) of the Forefront TMG computer.
- Click OK.
- Click Add.
-
Click OK, and then click OK to close the dialog box.
-
In the details pane, click the Apply button to save and update the configuration, and then click OK.
