The AlertEnabled property gets or sets a Boolean value that indicates whether an alert will be issued when the round-trip threshold set in the Threshold property is exceeded.

Pointer to a Boolean variable that is set on return to VARIANT_TRUE if an alert is enabled for the connectivity verifier, or to VARIANT_FALSE if no alert is enabled for the connectivity verifier.
Boolean value that indicates whether an alert is enabled for the connectivity verifier.
These property methods return S_OK if the call is successful; otherwise, they return an error code.

This property is read/write. Its default value is True (VARIANT_TRUE in C++).
