The UseFirewallIPAsSource property gets or sets a Boolean value that indicates whether the IP address of the Forefront TMG computer will be used as the source IP address when a request is forwarded to the published server.
HRESULT put_UseFirewallIPAsSource( VARIANT_BOOL fUseFirewallIPAsSource ); HRESULT get_UseFirewallIPAsSource( VARIANT_BOOL* pfUseFirewallIPAsSource );
Pointer to a Boolean variable that is set on return to VARIANT_TRUE if the IP address of the Forefront TMG computer will be used as the source IP address when a request is forwarded to the published server, or to VARIANT_FALSE if the original client IP address will be used as the source IP address.
Boolean value that indicates whether the IP address of the Forefront TMG computer will be used as the source IP address when a request is forwarded to the published server.
These property methods return S_OK if the call is successful; otherwise, they return an error code.
Property UseFirewallIPAsSource As Boolean
Boolean value that indicates whether the IP address of the Forefront TMG computer will be used as the source IP address when a request is forwarded to the published server.
This property is read/write. Its default value is True (VARIANT_TRUE in C++). When this property is set to the default value, requests appear to come from the Forefront TMG computer. This permits the published server to send responses back to the Forefront TMG computer. The Forefront TMG computer can then use network address translation (NAT) to send each response back to the original external host where the request originated.
When this property is set to False (VARIANT_FALSE in C++), the original client IP address is used as the source IP address when a request is forwarded to the published server, and the request appears to come from the original client.
When Network Load Balancing is enabled on the External network, only the default value is supported.
