RAM Caching

In Forefront TMG, cached pages are stored immediately in memory to be accessed by clients. A "lazy-writer" approach is used to write the pages to a disk. This approach results in faster cache-availability of the page. There is no direct mechanism for checking whether a page has been cached or written to the disk.

The Forefront TMG cache approach results in improved cache performance. If the system stops responding, Web objects stored in memory that have not yet been written to a disk must be obtained from the Internet.
