When you publish RemoteApps and Remote Desktops through Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG), a default icon is used for the application in the portal. Using the CustomUpdate mechanism (as described in About customizing end user Web pages), you can provide a custom icon for each of your published RemoteApp and Remote Desktop applications.
Note: |
---|
You must provide a custom icon before publishing the application, because the icon details are stored in the RDS internal configuration file, and not in the Forefront UAG configuration. |
The default icon is located here: ...\Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway\von\PortalHomePage\images\AppIcons\mstsc64.png.
To use a custom icon with published RemoteApps and Remote Desktops
-
In the ...\Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway\von\PortalHomePage\images\AppIcons folder, create one of the following files:
-
CustomUpdate\<trunk-name>.<uag-app-name>.<rmapp-name>.png
-
CustomUpdate\<trunk-name>.<rmapp-name>.png
-
CustomUpdate\<uag-app-name>.<rmapp-name>.png
- CustomUpdate\<rmapp-name>.png
- <rmapp-name>.png
where
<trunk-name> is the name of the trunk defined in the Forefront UAG Management console.
<uag-app-name> is the name of the application in the Forefront UAG Management console in the Applications area.
<rmapp-name> is the name of the application as specified in the imported .tspub file. When you publish Remote Desktops, <rmapp-name> is either remote_desktop or uag_selective_remote_desktop.
Note: - When you publish the application, Forefront
UAG checks for a custom icon in these locations in the order of
this list.
- If you want to change the icon for a
RemoteApp or Remote Desktop, you must remove the published
application, change the icon, and publish the application
again.
