This topic describes how to roll back Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) SP1. To uninstall Forefront UAG SP1, see Uninstalling Forefront UAG

You can roll back Forefront UAG if you previously installed SP1 on Forefront UAG RTM, Update 1, or Update 2.

Important:
If you installed Forefront UAG SP1 (RTM) on SP1 (RC), you cannot roll back your installation even though the Installed Updates list contains entries for Forefront UAG SP1 (RTM) and SP1 (RC).
Note:
If during the installation of SP1 you click Cancel, Setup tries to roll back your installation. If the rollback is unsuccessful, you may be prompted to restart your computer. However, after restarting your computer, your pre-SP1 installation will not work. To resolve this, do the following:
  1. Go to the ...\Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway\Common\Bin\ folder and rename ConfigMgrCom.exe.bak to ConfigMgrCom.exe

  2. Change the Microsoft Forefront UAG Configuration Manager service from Disabled to Automatic.

  3. Restart the computer.

  4. Activate the configuration.

You can now try again to install SP1.

To roll back Forefront UAG

  3. In the Installed Updates list, select Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) SP1, and then click Uninstall.
