This topic describes how to configure applications published through Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) to use Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) authentication.

Any application that you publish that uses AD FS authentication must use HTTPS.

To configure applications to use AD FS authentication

  1. In the Forefront UAG Management console, on the portal properties page, in the Applications list, click the published application, and then click Edit.

  2. On the Application Properties dialog box, click the Web Servers tab, and then in the HTTPS Ports box, enter 443.

  3. On the Application Properties dialog box, click the Portal Link tab, and then in the Application URL box, change the URL from HTTP to HTTPS.

  4. Click OK to close the Application Properties dialog box.
