Besides the direct traffic registration, UserGate Server can be used also for Internet connection expenditure calculations. This opportunity is provided by its integrated billing system. Underlying the billing system is a “billing plan” term. By default there is only one billing plan in UserGate with zero valuation of incoming, outgoing and temporal traffic costs. If UserGate is used to provide paid Internet access, UserGate administrator can create any number of billing plans according to Internet provider cost policies or arbitrarily by its own preferences.

UserGate access billing plans can be applied both to users and/or user groups. By default Internet connections of all users belonging to the same group are rated according to the group’s specified billing plan. An administrator can redefine user billing plan at any time.
