Cross-array link translation

Cross-array link translation enables the translation of links in Web content when the content the link refers to is published by another ISA Server array. Cross-array link translation creates a mapping of the internal site names to their public site names across the arrays to which you apply cross-array link translation.

For example, if the array Branch_1 publishes a Web site, weather.fabrikam.com, and the page includes a link to //sports, which is published by Branch_2 as sports.fabrikam.com, ISA Server will translate the link //sports to sports.fabrikam.com if cross-array link translation is enabled, and the two arrays participate in cross-array link translation.

By default, cross-array link translation is disabled in the enterprise. The enterprise administrator can select the arrays to which cross-array link translation will be applied. Only arrays in which link translation is enabled can be selected. If link translation is disabled in a specific array, and cross-array link translation is enabled, an alert will be raised on that array.

Internal sites that you do not publish, and that you designate as unpublished on the Link Redirection tab of the link translation properties, are not translated by cross-array link translation. Configuration of cross-array link translation is described in Configure cross-array link translation.
