Network Load Balancing cannot be configured for
enterprise-level networks and for the following default array-level
networks: Local Host, Quarantined VPN Clients, and VPN
Clients.
Network Load Balancing should be enabled for the External
network only if the external network adapters of the array are
directly connected to the Internet, but not if they access the
Internet through another network.
When a virtual IP address is configured for a network, ISA
Server adds the specified IP address to a network adapter on each
server, and updates the routing table for that network adapter
accordingly.
The combination of the virtual IP address and mask must yield
the same subnet as the combination of the IP address and mask of
the adapter in the network. The virtual IP address must belong to
the network.
