Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000

Remote Administration Installation

A user may choose to install only the administration components of ISA Server on a particular computer, thereby creating a remote administration computer for ISA Server. That computer will provide the administrator with ISA Management, but will not include ISA engine components.

If your filter includes user interface elements, you should provide an administration component installation option. The administrator will then be able to install only the administrator's user interface for your filter to the administration computer, and install the filter itself to ISA Server computers.

If you create scripts that will run on a remote administration computer, you should create the root object by using the FPCDS object, rather than the FPC object. For more information, see FPC Object and Creating the Root ISA Object.
