The Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) Operations guide provides information to help you customize Forefront UAG, manage Forefront UAG sites, administer client endpoints, configure and manage monitoring and logging, maintain and monitor Forefront UAG, and perform end-user operations.
The Operations guide includes the following:
- Hardening the Forefront
UAG server—Describes how to download and apply the Forefront
UAG security template.
- Customizing Forefront
UAG—Describes the Forefront UAG default portal and Web
application that is presented to users when they log in to the
portal, and how to customize the portal.
- Modifying network and
server settings—Provides instructions on modifying settings
configured with the Getting Started Wizard.
- Configuring monitoring
and logging—Provides instructions on configuring Forefront UAG
event logging, and selecting a log format. It also includes
information about working with the Forefront UAG Web Monitor, and
logging Forefront UAG events to SQL Server.
- Performing scheduled and
on demand operations—Provides information about maintaining
your Forefront UAG servers, including a list of daily, weekly,
monthly, and on-demand operations tasks.
- Monitoring Forefront UAG
DirectAccess SP1—Provides information about the logging and
monitoring features for Forefront UAG SP1.

on the endpoint device, in order to allow access to Forefront
