Overview :: Status

The Status section enables you to see at a glance whether your computer system is protected and which Avira AntiVir Premium modules are active. The Status section also provides information about the last update carried out. You can also see whether you own a valid license.

AntiVir Guard

Information on the current status of Guard is displayed in this box.

The following possibilities are available:

The Guard service is active, i.e. your system is continually monitored for viruses and unwanted programs.

Note
You can deactivate the Guard service. However, please note that you are no longer protected from viruses and unwanted programs when the Guard is deactivated. All files can pass through the system unnoticed and possibly cause damage.

Deactivated

Activate

The Guard service is deactivated, i.e. the service is loaded but is not active.

Warning
No scan is carried out for viruses and unwanted programs. All files can pass through the system unnoticed. You are not protected against viruses and unwanted programs.

In order to be protected against viruses and unwanted programs again, please click the link Activate in the section AntiVir Guard.

Service stopped

Start service

The Guard service is stopped.

This status is displayed when an unknown error occurs. In this case, please get in touch with our Support.

Online Protection

Information on the current status of the AntiVir services protecting your computer against viruses and malware are displayed in this panel.

Last complete system check

Information on the current status of the last system scan carried out is displayed in this panel. A complete system check means a full check of all local hard drives on your computer.

The last complete system scan was executed within a non-critical period.  The timeframe for a non-critical status can be defined in the Configuration and the default setting is 0 to 7 days.

You can execute a complete system check by clicking on the Check system now link.

If you have disabled status monitoring for the complete system scan in the configuration, the status display will show a green symbol. It is recommended that you activate status monitoring.

Date of last update, e.g. 10/07/2007

Check system now

A critical period has passed since the last system scan. The timeframe for the critical status can be defined in the Configuration and the default setting is 8 to 30 days.

Warning
The status of the system is insecure. There is a possibility that viruses or unwanted programs have been saved on your computer since the last system check.

Not executed

Check system now

No complete system check has been executed since installation.

The period that has passed since the last system scan is in a non-secure range. The limiting value for non-secure status can be defined in the Configuration and the default setting is 31 days.

Information on the current status of the last update carried out is displayed in this box.

Validity date of the evaluation license, e.g. December 31, 2008

Purchase

You have an evaluation license and thus has the possibility of testing the full range of functions of Avira AntiVir Premium for a certain period of time. Use the link Purchase to access the Online Shop of Avira AntiVir Premium. There you have the option of purchasing a valid license.
